In May 2012, sexual health clinic 56 Dean Street and actor Stephen Fry launched a competition to design an ad campaign that would make an impact to reduce HIV, and increase education about HIV amongst gay and bisexual men. My idea for the campaign was to present the unknown in a visual sense: I did this by presenting a man in the gym training whilst strapped to an electric chair.
My concept was announced as the winner in August 2012 after a month long voting period. The advert appeared as a banner on two leading gay websites: Gaydar and Gay Star News. It was also used for four months in three London gay publications: Boyz, Out In The City and QX.
